Harry Potter
Hey all welcome to week 4. I changed the font and style because... actually I’m not entirely sure why just got board. So anyways this week I’m going to basically talk about my love for Harry Potter.
Harry Potter. So as I said in my first blog I am a Slytherin a proud one for that matter. I took the official Harry Potter Sorting Hat quiz on Pottermore.com . A lot of people don’t want to be in that house because it’s the house of the evil or whatever people say but it’s not entirely true. Slytherin’s are actually resourceful, cunning, ambitious, driven, focused on goals, determined, prepared, realistic, self-reliant, and so much more. Slytherin’s, however, are not disloyal or evil. My personal main reason i wanted to be a Slytherin is because of Draco Malfoy and Severus Snap they are my all time favorite characters throughout the entire series. I do have to admit something though. I’m only on book three. I’ve seen the movies a million times and i rewatch them all the time but i have A reason why i haven’t Read all the books yet.
Growing up i had a reading comprehension problem which made it hard to read really any books let alone Harry Potter i tried to read the books before i watched the movies but i couldn’t. This was in 8th grade that i gave up and then my freshman year of college i tried Again and i was Able to read it and understand what was going on, probably because of the movies but you know whatever works. If you haven’t read the books i would Definitely do it because the movies are missing a lot of details I’m just saying.
Anyways so after I took the test on Pottermore.com i made my entire family take the test and my friends as well.
My mom, my sister Alexis, my sister Tiffany, both my GodParents, my older GodBrother, My sister Alexis’ boyfriend, my friend Sam and my friend Sierra are all Hufflepuffs. Hufflepuffs are sweet and loyal. My dad, my sister Jasmine, my friend Cheyenne, and my nephews dad along with his wife are all Slytherin’s like myself. My nieces dad, my grandma, and my friend Savannah are all Ravenclaws and they are the smart ones (not to dis on any of the other houses). Lastly my fiancé and my friends brother are both Gryffindors the house of the brave. They say only Slytherin produces evil people but Peter Pettigrew was a gryffindor and he was on you know who’s side. Lord Voldemort. “Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself” Hermione Granger.
I started on this never ending Harry Potter craz in 8th grade and it was the first thing i absolutely loved a side from Justin Bieber of course. Anyways my older sister also loved Harry Potter so likening something she liked made me feel closer to her because one she is 5 years older than I am and two we didn’t meet until i was 10 making her 15. When i was A senior in high school that’s when i started My Harry Potter collection. I have all the movies (including the fantastic beasts) and all the books (including Cursed Child, Fantastic Beast book 1 and one of the picture books). I have so many Harry Potter shirts and sweatpants and jewelry. My favorite thing i own that’s Harry Potter is my Slytherin robe i got Down in Florida.
Florida was the first vacation I’d even been on and it was over spring break of my freshman year of college and it was amazing. While i was down there my friend and I got wands that interacts with the park and out robes of course and we even tried butter beer. I want to go bad, in fact i never Wanted to leave i wanted To stay and work at Harry Potter world but all good things come to an end. Last year my sister Alexis went with her show choir and she absolutely loved it too she said it was the best thing she had ever seen and i totally agree.
My senior year of high school the show choir went to Chicago for a show choir competition and the competition happened to be at the same place as a comic con so of course some of use were nosey and went and explored and i got A picture with a dude dressed up as Darth Vader.
Little did I know i was In the same area as two Harry Potter actors Jason Isaacs and Evanna Lynch also known as Lucius Malfoy and Luna Lovegood. I didnt know they were there until i was home that they had been there that weekend and i was So upset because that meant i was So close to seeing people from Harry Potter. Then last year Oliver and James Phelps also known as Fred and George Weasley were in Indy at Comic Con and I wanted to go but my mom didn’t want me to drive to Indy so i didn’t get to go. Good new though, this April I’m going to Indy for comic con because my all time favorite actor will be there, Tom Felton also known as Draco Malfoy. So I’m super excited about that.

I've taken the Pottermore test so many times, but I haven't taken it in some years now. I repeatedly got Ravenclaw, which I think checks out if I remember correctly. I remember when I initially took the test when I was waaaaaaay younger, I wanted to get Gryffendor so badly because all the main characters in HP are that and I wanted to be cool like them.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've been to Harry Potter World before as well. Universal Studios doesn't have a lot to offer (in my humble opinion), but I think that it's worth the trip solely for HPW. I remember when I first walked in for the first time ever, everything felt so surreal and huge and immersive. It was an oddly really powerful feeling. I think it's probably just because our generation is so deeply entrenched in nostalgia when it comes to anything Harry Potter, so this is probably exactly why.
That is so cool that you got to go and experience the wizarding world. That is a bummer that you just missed Jason and Evanna. You will have a great time at Comic Con this April.
